Thanks to a series of mild winters, point restrictions and good herd management, we have experienced excellent success with our elk hunts. The 4 point antler restriction on bull elk has been in place for 15 years in our units. This has protected the young bulls, allowing them to grow older and smarter. It has proven to be a great herd builder, with many bulls each year living to be mature trophy class  animals. This coupled with the remoteness of our area allows the dedicated hunter a real chance at collecting a trophy bull. We offer pack-in hunts in one of Colorado's limited license units as well as private land hunts in a guaranteed license area. We have been experiencing greater trophy potential each year with over half of our hunters taking bulls  that were  5x6s or bigger. Colorado elk hunting has never been better.

Adams Lodge Outfitters is a small family owned and operated outfitting business based near Meeker, Colorado. We offer outfitting services in the White River National Forest and Flattops Wilderness Area.In the fall we have archery, muzzleloading and rifle elk hunts in game management unit 24. You may choose a guided elk hunt or an unguided drop camp. Either way you will be hunting elk from the White River elk herd, the largest elk herd in the nation. Bull elk licenses can be purchased over the counter for the combined rifle seasons. Archery, muzzleloading and anterless elk licenses for the rifle season are draw only as are the licenses for the first elk only season. The applications are usually available in February, the deadline in April and you will know if you were successful in June. Area 24 has a four point or better regulation which means that the younger bulls are not killed and now there are more mature bulls.

Ivory Outfitters offers Archery, Muzzle-Loading and Rifle Hunts from August through the end of December. The Big Game hunting on the Rio Ro Mo Ranch includes Elk, Mule Deer and Antelope. All hunts on the Rio Ro Mo are Unguided and Fair Chase. While on the Rio Ro Mo most hunting conducted will be Spot and Stalk. The ranch lies at 6,500 plus feet of elevation and the topography consists of large open areas with rolling hills filled with sagebrush. As you hunt the higher areas of the ranch you will start to move into thick Juniper trees.

Our Ranch (640 acres) is located 7 miles southeast of Meeker, Colorado, (area 23), in the foothills below White River National Forest.  The area is prime for mule deer & elk, as it boasts a mixture of terrain that provide the animals with food, water, and plenty of cover. In our timber areas there are many springs with wallows galore to sit and rest your weary bones. Thanks to the 4-point restriction our young bulls have been protected and this has given us more mature bulls. Some of these mature bulls will be spotted yearly. If you haven't yet experienced a horse back hunt, where few hunters roam, you owe it to yourself. We have many packages available to hunt the majestic monarchs of the Gunnison National Forest. We offer fully guided elk hunts, 1x1, to semi & unguided packages. We generally allow no more than six hunters in a camp. Horses and mules will be used to pack you into camp. We will leave camp daily on horseback, horseback rides vary daily, from one hour to one hour and 45 minutes. Mules will be taken with the guide daily to pack game so very little hunting time is lost. Game will be moved in non-prime time hunting! To enjoy it to the fullest, hunters must be in good physical condition and willing to work hard. Pack-in camp hunts are all 1x1 or 2x1 Rifle hunts. You will also be guaranteed to get a license/landowner tags for elk, deer, and antelope. Elk and deer hunts are scheduled for five days. Colorado elk hunts begin the first part of September into the first part of October with the rifle rut hunts. The remaining elk hunts carry through into the migration of November and the first part of December. Mule deer rut hunts will begin in the middle part of October following their migration into November. Antelope hunts are scheduled for three days, beginning in mid august all the way through the first part of October. You can expect to hunt antelope on the plains and prairies amongst the sagebrush and grassy slopes and hillsides stalking that one special buck. Fully guided elk, deer, and antelope combo hunts are set up with a guide for every two hunters. Your guide will take care of all your hunting needs to make sure it is a lasting memory. A one on one elk, deer, or antelope hunt is also available for an additional fee.
